Stardoll.com Shutters New York Office

Tween girl-aimed Stardoll.com has closed its New York office, executives at the company confirmed on Wednesday (Jan. 14).

The fast growing site, launched in 2006, has shuttered its three-person sales force in Manhattan. Going forward, officials said that ads sales will be run out of the company’s U.S. flagship office in Los Angeles.

Sources with knowledge of the company’s operations said that while Stardoll continues to add new users and land new advertisers, the move to pull back its East Coast presence was precautionary in light of the increasingly volatile and uncertain economy.
