Yahoo has snatched up a Politico staffer to lead the launch of its new foreign policy blog. Laura Rozen, who was most recently chief foreign policy writer for Politico, has been named senior foreign affairs reporter at Yahoo News.
At Yahoo, Rozen will be the driving force behind The Envoy, the company's upcoming foreign policy blog. The Envoy will join a growing collection of Yahoo News blogs—called The Upshot—which feature original reporting and commentary by professional journalists.
Among the other Upshot properties are the media-focused The Cutline, the national affairs-centric The Lookout and politics-oriented The Ticket. According to Yahoo, the network of blogs reached more than 37 million unique visitors in January.
Besides Politico, Rozen has also logged time covering world affairs at ForeignPolicy.com.
