MSNBC Launches 'Breaking News' Page

MSNBC.com has launched a new branded Facebook page centered on aggregating breaking news stories from across the Web.

The new Breaking News on Facebook page is an extension of MSNBC.com’s recent strategy to cater to an alternative user segment—one that is less context/programming focused and more drawn by timely headlines. A few months ago the company purchased the URL BreakingNews.com. And late last year MSNBC.com assumed control of the corresponding Twitter feed.

The new Facebook page will allow similar users to become fans of Breaking News—and then instantly receive headlines from across the globe, said officials.
