AOL’s WalletPop.com Add First Original Video Series

AOL’s blog-esque personal finance site WalletPop.com has launched Loose Change, its first original video series.

The new show, which debuted on Feb. 19, provides practical advice for consumers on how to better spend and save money. Each episode of the weekly series will be tied to a corresponding article on WalletPop.

The first episode/story centers on the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program run by the Internal Revenue Service, which offers low to middle income consumers free tax assistance. The three-minute-plus episode blends man-on-the-street interviews as well as Q&A sessions with VITA officials

WalletPop is one of a growing number of niche content sites launched over the past few years by AOL as part of its expanding, new named MediaGlow division.  The seven-month old site, born out of AOL Money & Finance, is off to a fast start, reaching over 5.6 million unique users according to Web analytics firm Compete.
