Lucky Hires Barnett as Design Director

Brandon Holley, who made waves when she abandoned the online world to return to print as the editor of Condé Nast’s Lucky, has made her first key hire, naming Dirk Barnett as design director.
 
Barnett is a well-regarded designer, although his lack of women’s magazine experience makes him an unusual choice. He most recently was creative director at lad mag Maxim, and held that same role at Blender; The New York Times’ verticals Key and Play; and Popular Science magazines.
