Producers Guild Announces Awards: Long, Long Lists of Names
The Producers Guild, which is really more of a club for producers, not a true union, like the DGA, WGA and SAG, has picked its best picture nominees. These are Paramount Vantage’s Babel, Warner Bros.’ The Departed, Paramount/DreamWorks Dreamgirls, Fox Searchlight’s Little Miss Sunshine and Miramax’s The Queen.
Producer credits spread like crab grass in spring a few years back, and the Academy got tough, so now only 3 people are allowed. The PGA has no limit on the number of producers on its nominated films.
