Here's The New Yorker's Somber Boston Marathon Bombing Cover
Of course, The New Yorker’s cover this week is an artful ode to the Boston Marathon bombing. The issue is titled: “Shadow Over Boston.”
Eric Drooker, the artist behind the cover, explains that “a bomb at a marathon, right at the finish line of a festive occasion — it seemed almost like a mixed metaphor, incongruous and absurd. Those are just the things that flashed through my head as I started painting.”
Drooker is a Manhattan native and frequent cover artist for The New Yorker.
