DC publicists take note, another Tuesday announcement out of CNN’s Washington bureau to be put on your radar. Stratacomm’s Emily Kuhn has joined CNN Digital as a publicist.
An email sent out by former FishbowlDC editor turned CNN-er Matt Dornic announced Kuhn’s hire. Kuhn interned for Dornic at 3 Dog Agency, a media relations boutique he founded in 2007, and in her new role will focus her initial attention on CNNMoney and CNNPolitics.com.
Kuhn is the recipient of Public Relations Society of America’s Silver Anvil and Bronze Anvil awards, a PR Daily Social Media Award and a National Association of Government Communicators Award.

Subject: Welcome Emily Kuhn: Reunited and It Feels So Good Edition
As a college intern at 3 Dog Agency, the media relations boutique I founded in 2007, Emily Kuhn was already managing accounts, pitching and placing stories in top-tier publications, and interfacing with clients. So it’s no surprise that she’s gone on to earn great praise, success and industry accolades — Public Relations Society of America’s Silver Anvil and Bronze Anvil awards, a PR Daily Social Media Award and National Association of Government Communicators Award…to name just a few.
But what you might find surprising is that I was able to woo her away from Stratacomm where she’s spent the last five years developing and executing integrated communication campaigns on behalf of association, government, nonprofit and corporate clients. Prior to that she worked in the marketing communications department at Miami University (her alma mater), and for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, where she still enjoys volunteering her time through pro bono work.
Oh! Did I mention that in her spare time she snagged a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University with a double concentration in digital comms and political comms? In short, Emily’s temporary lapse in judgment is certainly our win. At CNN she’ll support the entire CNN Digital portfolio globally, but focus much of her initial attention on CNNMoney and CNNPolitics.com.
And though she will be based in the DC bureau and report to me, she is everything I am not – patient, warm, kind, charming, organized, etc. You’ll love her. Today is Emily’s first day so please join me in celebrating this excellent addition to our team.
