Isn’t that Daniel Lippman, the POLITICO researcher/reporter that assists Mike Allen with Playbook, in this month’s issue of Capitol File?
It is, and full disclosure, was written by FishbowlDC editor Nick Massella.
Lippman was profiled in the DC glossy for his new-ish gig at POLITICO, the same outlet that wrote about him in 2009 as a GW student in regular correspondence with members of the White House press corps, pointing out misspelled names, broken hyperlinks, etc.
And yet that wasn’t his first time being interviewed as the focus of an article. In 2005 – at the age of 15 – The New Yorker did a “Talk of the Town” piece on him after having his question answered during several of the Bush administration’s ‘Ask the White House’ web forum.
On working alongside POLITICO’s chief White House correspondent, Lippman told Capitol File, “[Mike Allen] knows what Washington will talk about the next day and what people want to read. Politico encourages its reporters to write stories no one else has, to push for details, and to really understand the behind-the-scenes story. What Mike has told me is that the most important thing is your work—it’s not a clock-in or clock-out. It’s more about, ‘Are you writing interesting articles? Is ‘Playbook’ serving its readers and continuing to inform people who are reading it?’”
Lippman’s profile is in Capitol File’s fall fashion issue with Donna Karen taking the cover. Check it out online today, or on news stands.
