CBS's 'Face the Nation' Celebrates 60th Anniversary

Today marks the 60th anniversary of CBS’s “Face the Nation,” which debuted for the first time on November 7, 1954. At the time of its launch, the show was hosted by Tedd Koop.

“Face” is the second longest running television program currently on air, second to NBC’s “Meet the Press,” which celebrated its 67th anniversary yesterday.

This Sunday, “Face” will air a special 60th anniversary broadcast with separate interviews by host Bob Schieffer of President Barack Obama and President George W.
