In another sign that the display ad market is becoming increasingly healthy, Yahoo said its global display revenue jumped 17 percent during Q3 of this year.
According to the company’s earnings report, display ad revenue for Yahoo’s owned-and-operated properties has increased by 18 percent so far in 2010. That’s another strong sign for the online display ad market, which declined in 2009. Last week, Google announced that its display ad business was trending toward an annual revenue haul of $2.5 billion.
Yahoo’s overall revenue climbed 2 percent in Q3 vs. Q2 to over $1.6 billion.
Search remains a weak spot for the company, however, as revenue declined 7 percent vs. the same quarter last year.
However, by the end of this year, the company’s search ad partnership with Microsoft should be up and running, possibly providing a significant revenue increase.
