WordPress for Android Updated – Finally Gets Useful Features

Even though there’s been a WordPress for Android since mid-2010, it hasn’t exactly been easy to blog on the go. Earlier versions of the app lacked basic abilities that any blogger would expect to find in any blogs dashboard and were generally awkward to use. Today’s update still doesn’t fix the major issues but it does offer a number of incremental improvements.

The app will now save your post as you write it, saving you the hassle of doing it yourself, and it will now enable you to set the width for linked images. You can also edit comments left by your readers. The update also includes reliability improvements and some small improvements to the UI which solve commonly made mistakes.

IMO, this app still is barely worth using. I still don’t like how it display’s posts while I work on them, nor do I like how it handles comments. About the only useful feature, IMO, is that the app can also show me the standard admin dashboard. I use that to get real work done.

You can find out more and download the update here. It’s in beta, so caveat emptor.
