Word Game Grabbler Wins Indian Facebook Developer Contest

The game is the product of iPlaySocial, and has also garnered recognition as a fbFund 2009 Top 50 finalist. As winner of the Developer Contest, Grabbler developers will receive a $4,000 cash prize. Facebook also chose a winner in the Connect category, with music-sharing platform Muziboo.com taking top honors.

Grabbler is a clever spin on a turn-based word game, with players finding shaping words out of varying letters on a 12 x 12 grid. The game is reportedly enjoyed by players in more than 160 countries, who have logged more than 3 million minutes of play. As of right now, it has around 13,000 monthly active users.

The Facebook Developer Contest is a actually a series of contests around the world held by Facebook to help promote development of applications and more countries.
