Competition, high energy expenses and food prices has forced this charming 60-year-old hamburger eatery to turn off the stove and lock the doors, for good. Yet members of the Amarillo Historical Preservation believe they can help owner Bill Fischer re-open the place with low-interest loans and marketing support. This writer hopes so she can enjoy a hamburger or a chicken-fried steak sandwich while she retraces Route 66!
