Vodafone UK Trials Fixed-Price Music, Video Downloads

Music recognition service Shazam and online music video channel VidZone have hooked up with Vodafone UK to trial a fixed-price mobile music video download service, Mobile Entertainment reports.

The deal will let Vodafone UK customers purchase songs and videos through the ShazamiD application, for 1.99 pounds (about $3.90) per video and 1.50 pounds (about $2.95) per music track.

The companies think consumers will like the service because they’ll know exactly how much will be added to their bill for the downloads rather than getting surprised by the exorbitant download fees that can occur if you don’t have an unlimited data plan.
