VeriFone Brings People.com to NYC Taxis
VeriFone Transportation Systems has added new programming, including People.com, MediaPost reports, to the content available on the interactive mobile information screens that are part of the integrated payment and information system in NYC taxis.
The report said that in addition to People.com, VTS is also providing content from PMbuzz.com, a New York nightlife information source, and Disney Broadway, which presents classic Disney movies on stage.
The company said that 6,500 taxis—which is about half of the entire fleet—are now set up with contracts for in-taxi acceptance of credit cards.
