Twitter Is Gaining In Popularity [STUDY]
Arbitron and Edison Research have released their 2013 Infinite Dial Report, analyzing the current state of digital platforms, and the results bring interesting insights to bear regarding Twitter.
The data was collected in January and February of 2013 via a national telephone survey offered in both English and Spanish (landline and cell phone) of 2,021 people aged 12 and older.
The snackable version of the report’s main takeaways:
People are spending way more time consuming media
Internet connectivity continues to expand
More than half the population owns a smartphone
More than half of cell owners always have their phones within arm’s reach
6 in 10 Americans have at least one social media profile
Facebook is the dominant player
But Twitter is gaining in recognition and media market share
And the potential is richer than ever, with more and more people logging on more frequently to social networks
