Strategy game fans have a new option on Facebook in SpinPunch’s Thunder Run: War of Clans. The game has started its climb up the Facebook charts, currently sitting at over 400,000 monthly active users, according to our app tracking service AppData. The game throws players into war and challenges them with building an army and claiming dominance over anything that moves.
Thunder Run: War of Clans offers strategy gameplay, as players select specific units under their command and send them to attack enemy forces. Users have access to soldiers, helicopters, ground vehicles and more, which can be deployed in varying quantities, depending on the current mission.
Players must train infantry, armor and aircraft units using the resources they collect from their home base, or from fallen enemies. Different units require different amounts of these resources, and are appropriately varied in terms of strength and offensive capabilities.
Once deployed into battle, units will attack the nearest object automatically, but players can choose specific opponents on the fly using mouse controls. Back home, those troops can be healed or repaired using resources and time, or instantly healed using premium currency. Players are rewarded some premium currency at the beginning of the game, but the rest can be purchased with real money.
The base can also be upgraded with better power generators, fuel yards, training facilities and more. The more buildings players upgrade and unlock, the stronger troops they have access to, the more items they can store at once, and so on. Players are led through the game via a robust quest system, and social play sees them engaging in multiplayer battles against other players.
