For example, the new TV show The Following is going all out with Twitter interaction, even incorporating Vine into its advertising. If you’re a viewer, check this out for how to win stuff while you watch – and if you’re a marketer, watch and learn, young Jedi.
The Following is a popular weekly thriller about a “brilliant and charismatic, yet psychotic serial killer [who] communicates with other active serial killers and activates a cult of believers following his every command.” The show is on Fox and those masters of marketing have two Twitter campaigns that will get your creative juices flowing.
The first happens tonight. Tweet #TheFollowing as you watch the show and you can win something cool. (Tell us what when you win!). This is smart because live tweeting is one of THE best ways to drive engagement and enhance followings on Twitter.
The second Twitter campaign is one they started a while ago, but it’s still clever: The #ShockCam. They want users to Vine themselves watching the show. THIS is smart because Vine is the newest hot thing on Twitter and people love nothing more than themselves (that’s not a judgment, I have a Vine too).
