Facebook Group 1000 to get tess ungrounded has nearly reached its goal, totaling 960 members at the time of this post.
What is this group about? Tess Chapin, a 15-year-old from Sunnyside, Queens, and a sophomore at Millennium High School in Lower Manhattan, is using the social-networking site to protest being grounded by her parents for five weeks for drinking at a party and missing her curfew, The New York Times reports.
According to the Times, Chapin originally circulated a petition around school but turned to Facebook thanks to the suggestion of a friend.
The description of the Facebook Group (obviously unedited):

Who says Facebook has no redeeming social value?
