Waggener Edstrom expanded its healthcare practice with two new hires: SVP Maria Favorito and Account Manager Martina Schwarzkopf. The former will be based in Boston and the latter in New York. Schwarzkopf, who “earned a Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry” before turning to the communications industry, was an account supervisor at New York’s Russo Partners. Favorito, who joins the firm’s newly relocated Boston office, previously held senior positions at Feinstein Kean Healthcare, Cohn & Wolfe and Weber Shandwick. (Release)

Kelli Raftery has been promoted to senior vice president of communications at CBS Corporation. In her new role, which becomes effective on June 1, Raftery will help manage media relations for the CBS Corporate Communications Department, covering a wide range of company initiatives and activities in Sales, Research, Affiliate Relations, Carriage Agreements, Governmental Affairs, and Program Practices. She will also work closely to support the communications teams at each of CBS’s business segments. (Release)

Stratacomm LLC has hired Jacqueline Bengel as a vice president in the company’s Washington, D.C. office. In her new role, Jacqueline will help oversee integrated communication planning and strategies across several client accounts. Jacqueline was previously a senior account director at Home Front Communications, where she led a sizable portfolio of accounts managing strategic public relations, advertising, media relations and digital services for a variety of government, non-profit and association clients. Gil Bashe has joined Finn Partners as a managing partner, health. In his new role, his responsibilities will include adding mainstream pharmaceutical companies to Finn’s existing portfolio of payer-provider clients, and Bashe will also draw on the firm’s existing capabilities in areas like the CSR and public affairs expertise of Widmeyer and the digital and social media team. Bashe is a healthcare communications veteran, and most recently served as head of the health practice at Makovsky & Company.  (TheHolmesReport)
