Roll Call: Brunswick Group Opens a Dallas Office

Brunswick Group has opened a Dallas office, which will be led by managing partner Jim Wilkinson and new partner, Mark Palmer. Wilkinson has previously served as chief of staff to U.S. Treasury Department for Secretary Henry M. Paulson. Palmer was previously VP of corp comms and organizational effectiveness at Sysco Corporation. The Dallas location is the fourth for Brunswick in the U.S. and the 17th internationally.

Jared Hendler has joined MWW Group as EVP and global director of digital and creative services. He will oversee the Dialogue Digital practice and help with strategy for some of the firm’s top clients. Hendler has previously held executive-level positions at Edelman and Katalyst. MWW recently became independent again after purchasing itself back from IPG.

McDonald’s chief communications officer, Jack Daly, has died of cancer. He oversaw all global comms efforts and helped turn around the company’s image after the release of the movie Super Size Me. Daly had been with the company for nearly 20 years.

Javier Morgadohas been appointed VP of business development and communications for Latina magazine. He has been with the company for six months. He will oversee new brand extensions as well as those in development.

Salli Schwartz has been named interim VP of IR for Moody’s. Schwartz has been with the company since 2007 when she joined as VP of corporate development. She succeeds Liz Zale, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

Widmeyer Communications has promoted six staff members. Teresa Valerio Parrot has been promoted to SVP, leading the higher education practice. Kristofer Eisenla, who joined the firm in early 2010, has been promoted to VP. Jim Luetkemeyer is now VP in the public affairs practice. Katie Reardon is now AVP on the PreK-12 education team. Amy Leahing has been promoted to senior associate in the health and wellness practice. And Sara Kabakoff is now the firm’s senior marketing manager, handling PR for the firm as well as clients.
