Social and mobile game developer Plarium has announced the official release of Nords: Heroes of the North on iOS and Android. The game was originally released on Facebook in May 2015, with the mobile version allowing players to pick up where they left off by connecting to their Facebook account.
Nords: Heroes of the North is a base-building strategy game, challenging players to lead an army of Elves, Dragons, Northmen and Orcs in a war against the Ice Queen and her army of the undead. Players choose a race to represent them in the game (Elves, Orcs or Northmen), with this decision affecting the appearance of their base.
Gamers can construct and upgrade buildings around their base by collecting and spending key resources, including mushrooms, fish and ale. Users can complete quests to receive additional resources and other prizes, and can build defenses to protect their kingdom.
In addition, users can train troops for their army which can be sent to attack other players’ strongholds, as well as computer-controlled settlements. Soldiers travel between locations automatically once they’re assigned to a task, and players can watch battles play out in a 3-D battle view.
In a statement, Avi Shalel, CEO of Plarium, commented:
Now that mobile has become a sophisticated gaming platform, we are taking advantage of the new capabilities it provides to make our games more detailed and engaging. The inventory system is deeper, characters have more personality, and battling is visual, eye-popping and more strategic than it was before. Our goal at Plarium is to continue to push the limits of what people expect from a strategy MMO title.
