People Would Rather Bounce a Check Than Lose Their Mobile Phone

Prior to launching the contest, Asurion partnered with Opinoinology, a leading online market research fieldwork provider. They conducted a quantitative research to learn more about Americans and their mobile phones. Among many other findings, the research shows that 5 out of 10 consumers would rather bounce a check than lose their mobile phone.

Asurion officially launched a mobile mishaps contest. The contest is designed to find some of the most peculiar, odd, outrageous and downright funny stories about how U.S. consumers have lost or broken their mobile phones.

“Once we read the research and realized the awkward situations people would rather be in instead of losing their lifeline to family and friends, we immediately knew we wanted to collect some of their stories,” said Bettie Colombo, senior director of marketing communications for Asurion, the global leader in providing consumer technology protection services.
