In addition to partnering with Vice, OurTime – a non-profit organization that drives Americans to vote – will join The Huffington Post and AOL in its effort to register 250,000 young voters before the midterms. HuffPost and AOL will each embed OurTime’s voter registration tool its political coverage.
“OurTime is a leader in using technology to help young Americans register to vote,” said Arianna Huffington, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, in a release. “I’m delighted that The Huffington Post and OurTime will once again be joining forces, building on the success of our 2012 partnership, to use all the tools at our disposal to let all our voices be heard.”
Ahead of the 2012 election, OurTime partnered with The Huffington Post to successfully register 350,000 voters.
“There is no better place to engage young voters than online,” added Matthew Segal, co-founder of OurTime.org in the release. “Arianna understands that intuitively, which makes Huffington Post a perfect destination for OurTime.org to register thousands of young voters this fall.”
The announcement was made to coincide with National Voter Registration Day.
