New awards this year include a “Most Inspiring Fan Outreach” award for engaging fans online, an “Analog Genius” award for teaching an old technology a new trick, the “Friday, Friday Award” for trends we hope are not around long enough to make the list at next year’s awards ceremony, and the “Next Big Scene”: a must-read list of previously-unheard-of musical genres that you need to memorize right now.Fans who work their social networks will determine the outcome of this awards show. Voting for the 4th annual OMAs is happening right now on OMusicAwards.com. The 24-hour live-streamed show will commence on June 19 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.The categories and nominees are:Digital Genius Award (Winner: Artist)PsyYoko OnoWill.i.amTrent ReznorPussy RiotBest Web-Born Artist (Winner: Artist)KittyBaauerFIDLARMacklemore & Ryan LewisAngel HazeBest Music App (Winner: Developer)ScapeVjayTimbreCrowdSYNCJukelyBest Interactive Music Video (Winner: Artist)Linkin Park, “Lost in the Echo”Beck & Chris Milk, “Sound and Vision”Tanlines, “Not The Same”Miranda Lambert, “Fastest Girl in Town”Yung Jake, “e.m.-bed.de/d”Fan Army FTW (Winner: Artist)Tokio Hotel’s“Aliens”Adam Lambert’s “Glamberts”Ed Sheeran’s “Sheerios”Justin Bieber’s “Beliebers”Beyonce’s “Beyhive”Demi Lovato’s“Lovatics”Thirty Seconds to Mars’ “Echelon”Selena Gomez’s “Selenators”All Time Low’s “Hustlers”Lil B’s“Task Force”Best Music Hack (Winner: Developer)BonhamizerLeap OrchestraMaebeTweet ConcreteBoil the FrogMust Follow Artist on Twitter (Winner: Artist)Bruno Mars?uestloveFrank OceanAndrew W.K.Erykah BaduGrimesCarrie BrownsteinSolangeRyan AdamsRichard MarxBest Artist Instagram (Winner: Artist)PictureplaneTyler the CreatorBon IverMariah CareyRiff RaffOur Favorite Musical Cat (Winner: Cat)Lil BubKeyboard CatSkifcha The Hipster Dubstep CatCollective Soul CatCatCERTOToo Much Ass for TV (NSFW Music Videos) (Winner: Artist)David Bowie, “The Stars (Are Out Tonight)”Sigur Ros, “Valtari”DIIV, “Wait”Frank Ocean, “Pyramids”Robin Thicke, “Blurred Lines”Make a Band FamousThe So So GlosChill MoodySyd ArthurStriking MatchesTatiana OwensJohn & JacobShy GlizzyFallulahThe FutureDarling ParadeNext Big ScenePostDubStepCloudRapBeats#SeapunkVaporwaveAnalog Genius Award (Winner: Artist)Jack WhiteBeckNeil YoungShoneMost Inspiring Fan Outreach (Winner: Artist)Dan DeaconAvicii x YouEric Whitacre’s Virtual ChoirAlicia KeysThe “Friday, Friday” Award (Winner: Artist/Originator)Harlem Shake (the faux dance)Flash MobsGoats yelling like humans in music videosTwerkingLip DubsOpen NominationsIf you’d like to write in your nomination for the O Music Awards Open Nominations, tweet the name of the nominee and use one of these category hashtags:#OMADigitalGenius#OMAWebBornArtist#OMAMusicApp#OMAInteractiveVideo#OMAFanArmyFTW#OMAMusicHack#OMAMustFollowTwitter#OMAArtistInstagram#OMAMusicalCat#OMATooMuchAss#OMANextBigScene#OMAAnalogGenius#OMAFanOutreach#OMAFridayFridayO Music Awards Super FanYou know who else is nominated?
