Myspace continued to forge ahead with its renewed focus on music, announcing the launch of the Myspace Artist Web App, along with a redesign of its Artist Home Page.
Users with iPhone, iPod Touch, or Android devices will be able to listen to free music (30 seconds for major labels, full tracks for independents); view updates, photos, events, and blog posts from artists; access profiles through desktop icons that can be saved on devices; and customize the marquee, desktop icon, and background color of the mobile app.
The new homepage design allows artists to immediately access content they’ve posted and add insight to it; toggle their streams to view stats on uploaded content and recent activity; connect with fans who have commented; and access other special tools for artists to maintain their profiles.
From a post on the Myspace Press Room blog:
As our recently launched Myspace Music Artist App, which syncs an artist’s content into Facebook, continues to gain momentum (more than 18,000 artists and counting!), these new tools serve to take our commitment to our music community yet another step further. We hope you enjoy! Stay tuned for more.
