Mojang Announces Minecraft Ender Update Coming to Mobile, Windows 10

The Ender Update will allow players to travel to The End area and battle the Ender Dragon boss.

Microsoft and Mojang announced the next major update coming to Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta. The update is called the 1.0 Ender Update, and it will add The End area to the game.

With this update, players will be able to travel to The End area and battle the Ender Dragon boss. Users will also be able to explore End Cities, encounter the Shulker Mob, collect purple “purpur” building blocks and collect an Elytra glider from an End Ship.

In addition, the Ender Update will increase the game’s build height limit to 256 blocks. The game’s current build height limit in Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta is 128 blocks.

This update will also include additional unspecified features.

In a blog post, Owen Jones, director of creative communications at Mojang, explained:

There are a lot more features in the new update, but we’re not going to go into those right now. We think it would be more fun if you find them out yourselves.

The Ender Update is expected to launch on mobile devices and Windows 10 before the end of the year. When the update launches, the Windows 10 version of the game will no longer have the “Beta” label. In addition, this will be the version of Minecraft that will debut on Apple TV when Minecraft: Apple TV Edition launches.
