Some Users Can Go Live Directly via Facebook Camera

Users in the test group are seeing three tabs at the top of Facebook Camera: Live, Normal and GIF

Some Facebook users are seeing the ability to launch Facebook Live directly via Facebook Camera in their mobile applications.

Sarah Perez of TechCrunch shared the tweet below, from Jose Gutierrez, with screenshots of the test, and a Facebook spokesperson confirmed to Perez that the social network was testing the feature.

Perez reported that users in the test group are seeing three tabs at the top of Facebook Camera: Live, Normal and GIF.

Clicking on the Live tab brings up a video camera icon to livestream video or a microphone to livestream audio.

According to Perez, users also have the option to go live within their Facebook Stories, in a regular Facebook post, or both. This option appears in the same drop-down menu that enables users to choose whether the livestream can be seen by friends, specific friends or anyone (public).
