LinkedIn Bests Myspace For U.S. Visitors, Taking No. 2 Spot

According to newly released report from comScore data, professional social network Linkedin best Myspace in June regarding overall traffic. Linkedin is now the No. 2 most visited social networking site in the U.S. Of course, the increase of traffic started with LinkedIn filed its IPO in May, reaching the ultimate of 33.9 million unique visitors in June compared to Myspace with 33.5 million unique visitors.

Linkedin is now the No. 2 most visited social networking site in the U.S. Of course, the increase of traffic started with LinkedIn filed its IPO in May, reaching the ultimate of 33.9 million unique visitors in June compared to Myspace with 33.5 million unique visitors. MySpace decreased in numbers from 34.9 million in May. But, Myspace has new owners, so we might see a change in the numbers in the ensuing months.

The same report indicates that Twitter didn’t do too badly either. The social network posted record U.S. traffic garnering over 30 million unique visitors, a first for Twitter, with 30.6 million unique visitors in June against to 27 million unique visitors in the previous month.

Facebook also peeked a highest ever with U.S. traffic in June, seeing 160.8 million unique visitors in the U.S. up from 157.2 million unique visitors in May. The social network also crossed the 750 million active users worldwide as well.

Microblogging site Tumblr fared pretty well, too, with 11.8 million unique visitors in June, an increase from 10.7 million in May. Reported earlier, Tumblr has about 400 million pageviews per day due to an increase in international users.

Overall, we can easily declare that social media is on a roll. More and more people are joining up and taking part in the medium. With the coming of more IPOs, Facebook and Twitter, I am sure we will see an even bigger increase in social media users.
