Lagardère Publishing's eBook Revenue Up 88%

Lagardère Publishing saw eBook sales rise 88% in Q1 2011, compared to Q1 2010. These eBook sales accounted for approximately 22% of revenue in the United States and 5% in the UK. A press release attributed the growth to brisk sales of eReaders at the end of 2010.

Overall sales for the quarter were down 9.8% over the same quarter in 2010. The press press release said the drop was expected: “There was an expected decline in consolidated revenue, with first quarter 2010 comparatives remaining high due to the success of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series.”
