Jack White Takes Guinness Title For ‘World’s Fastest Released Record’ On Record Store Day

We wish we'd been there.

jack white lazarettoRemember that time we told you Jack White was planning to set a record  with “the world’s fastest released record”? Well he did it! And on Record Store Day (as the social gaming app Nomino was kind enough to remind us)!

The stunt took advantage of the intimate, live recording that had been planned for the day with attendees getting a limited edition copy of the title track from the upcoming album “Lazaretto,” designed with images from the show. The recording took three hours, 55 minutes and 21 seconds to produce. And there are recaps available on Instagram and Twitter.

Darn it all, it doesn’t look like Third Man Records (White’s label) has made a recording of the song available to the waiting masses. But we do have a slightly trippy video for an instrumental song that will be on the album, “High Ball Stepper,” after the jump.

The previous Guinness World Record holder was a Swiss band, Vollgas Kompanie, a record they broke back on August 16.
