Israeli Operator Puts Bible on Mobile

Israeli wireless carrier Pelephone has teamed with Zed Mobile to make the Bible available on mobile phones.

Pelephone might not be the first to offer a mobile version of the Bible, but it is likely the only company to make the entire Hebrew text of the Old Testament searchable by book and chapter.

The new offering runs on the Qualcomm BREW platform, according to Cellular-news. Pelephone content division director Motti Cohen expects the Bible application to be a popular one among its subscriber base, particularly with boys preparing for their Bar Mitzvah ceremony, the article says.
