Imangi Studios has announced its partnership with NFL Players Inc. to bring some of the NFL’s top football players to Temple Run 2. This is an ongoing event for the Fall season, with new players added as playable runners each week through the Thanksgiving holiday. To start, players have access to the San Francisco 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick and the Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson.
Each character is available to purchase for the week of its release, making these extremely limited content additions to a player’s lineup of characters. Once purchased, they will remain available to players indefinitely after the event ends. Wilson and Kaepernick cost $0.99 each to download.
“We are very mindful about choosing the right characters to join the Temple Run universe, and partnering with NFL Players Inc. was a natural fit to include more of the world’s greatest athletes into the game,” said Keith Shepherd, co-founder of Imangi Studios, in a statement. “We had a great time choosing some favorites and think our fans will enjoy the run even more.”
The Temple Run franchise (not including the Brave and Oz versions of the game) crossed one billion total downloads earlier this year. Fans interested in keeping track of the latest player additions to the game are encouraged to ‘like’ the Temple Run Facebook fan page.
