If there’s Library Thing for book social networking, there has got to be a “thing” for hobbies and personal interests. Of course there is – and its called HobbyThing, a social networking site for sharing your hobbies and interests with the rest of the world.
HobbyThing describe its site as “the Social HobbyNetwork for people who would like to share their hobbies, interests and lifestyle with other hobby enthusiasts! Whether you’re an amateur hobbyist, collector or craftsman this website is for you.”
It’s a pretty straightforward social networking site geared for sharing hobbies and interests right? I mean what could be a better way to meet new people and find interesting ones than by knowing what interests them and whether their hobbies are same as yours?
HobbyThing was created by a husband and wife team who believes in the importance of hobbies and interest in building a relationship online, and eventually help hobbyists create a living out of their hobbiws and interests. Sounds interesting right?
The site offers various social networking and web 2.0 services such us photo albums, discussion forums, tag clouds, RSS feeds and more. What I find interesting with the site though is the real-time updates that the site flashes on its home page, via a upward scrolling news ticker. In addition, the site also has a pretty sleek and cool theme that won’t annoy you, but attract you to explore the site some more instead.
