GoEuro has announced the official launch of its self-titled transportation app for iOS and Android, helping European citizens (especially those in the United Kingdom) compare travel times and prices from over 160 train, bus and airline companies worldwide. The app’s coverage provides ticket info for over 3,800 different locations around the U.K. alone.
At launch, the app provides route and ticket info for over 4,000 train stations, bus terminals and airports across the United Kingdom, and 33,000 individual destinations in Europe. The app aims to be three tools in one, as users input their departure and destination locations and dates before browsing separate results for busses, trains or flights.
Naren Shaam, CEO of GoEuro, commented on the app:
Travel search has traditionally been dominated by websites and apps that focus on air and accommodation bookings. However, the increased popularity of rail and coach transport within the U.K. and Europe has opened a huge gap in the market to combine all modes of transport in one place. We are offering a must-have product for anyone looking to book coaches, trains and air travel domestically or within Europe.
In future updates, the GoEuro app will expand to offer subway maps, as well as user profiles for cataloging booked trips.
GoEuro is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. The app is one of a growing number of mobile travel platforms, joining the likes of Busbud (an international bus travel site), Withlocals (a travel guide app connecting users with hosts in Southeast Asia) and Sam’s Club Travel (a platform offering members-only savings on travel accommodations), among many others.
