Flo Music Launches Social Music Playlist App on iOS

The app allows users to create a social music playlist by syncing up to 10 nearby phones to form one master playlist.

Flo Music officially launched its iOS application, allowing users to create a social music playlist by syncing up to 10 nearby phones to form one master playlist.

The Flo Music app allows users to connect to their Spotify or SoundCloud accounts and stream music for the group, or play songs they have on their own devices. Users can connect to a group, or “Flo,” using the same WiFi network, but when a network isn’t available, the app will spawn a WiFi hotspot for users to join.

The app offers two listening modes. The first, sync mode, will play the same song through every connected device simultaneously, while the second, dock mode, will play music through a speaker connected to one of the devices.

In both listening modes, every user in the group has the ability to add songs to the group’s playlist, while the group’s creator has the ability to change the playlist’s song order.

In a statement, Flo Music co-founder and investor Justus Pinkston commented:

Upon hearing about the Flo Music concept, I immediately knew it was the right investment opportunity. Everyone loves and listens to music, and I believe music is best experienced with other people. Flo Music is providing a solution for music lovers who want to join in the playlist creation.

Flo Music is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store.
