The three courses focus on making it easier for journalists to incorporate Facebook and Instagram into their work, including newsgathering, storytelling and engaging with followers, and they include product knowledge from the social network, case studies, and tips from Facebook with journalistic guidance from Poynter.
Journalists who pass Poynter’s written assessment will receive a certificate of completion, recognized by both Facebook and Poynter, from the social network’s Facebook Blueprint e-learning initiative.
We also welcome feedback on the certificate curriculum. Journalists who complete these courses are encouraged to join Facebook’s News Media & Publishing group, where they can suggest new courses, ask questions about Facebook products, connect with colleagues in the industry, share best practices and hear about case studies and product updates.
