The new rule of thumb is: If you want to see new mobile gadgets first, move out of the U.S. because you won’t see them here. Cases in point? Windows Phone 7 smartphones launched in the Europe. And, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab Android powered tablet is available in the UK first.

The good news for those of you who have been waiting for a good Android tablet (the ones released in the past 10 months have been based on ancient Android OS releases with unexciting hardware) is that Engadget’s Joanna Stern is impressed with the Galaxy Tab after spending a few days with it.
With Archos’ various new Android tablets unavailable, it looks like Samsung will have the Android tablet market in the U.S. all to itself soon and, more importantly, the 2010 holiday buying season. I’m considering buying a WiFi-only model if it becomes available in the U.S.
