Tesla’s Elon Musk chose a unique way to respond to (alleged) quotes from a forthcoming book last night: he denied them on Twitter.
@voxdotcom I have never written or said this. Ashlee’s book was not independently fact-checked. Should be taken w a grain of salt.

Steve “Unauthorized Biography” Jobs would be proud. Musk went on to elaborate a bit:
…so even he admits that some of writer Ashlee Vance’s sources were 100 percent accurate…just not the one cited by Vox (which updated its story to include his statements).
It is total BS & hurtful to claim that I told a guy to miss his child’s birth just to attend a company meeting. I would never do that. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) May 12, 2015
Interestingly, this appears to be the first time Musk has addressed the forthcoming book “Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future” in public. Vance himself has not addressed the matter at all, though he did thank Twitter for (inadvertently) helping to promote his work yesterday:
Here’s our favorite “hot take” on the story via friend of the site “A. Spokesman” (which may or may not be his real name):

For the record, it does very much sound like something he would actually say.
