Disney Interactive has today announced the launch of its Facebook word game Words of Wonder on iOS devices. The game asks players to complete an adventure through a storybook by creating words on grids to earn points and destroy obstacles.
Words of Wonder is level-based, with each level coming with a different basic goal. One may ask players to clear ink drops by making words on top of ink-covered tiles, while another may simply ask players to use a specific number of tiles in words. The longer the word, the more points it’s worth, and certain special tiles may multiplayer the points received for a single word.
Power-ups allow users to add more moves to the game before they fail a level, shuffle all of the letter tiles on the board, or remove a single letter tile that’s in the way. These are rewarded for free in small quantities, but can be purchased with real-money after those free items run out.
The iOS version of Words with Wonder comes with 70 levels at launch, and offers cross-platform play for existing players of the Facebook experience.
The game currently has over 2.4 million monthly active players on Facebook, according to our app tracking service AppData. New and old players alike can now download the game for free on iOS, with an Android version coming soon.
