In Reigns, players receive one request or story card at a time, and they can swipe left or right to make a decision or choose a response for each card. As users make decisions, the balance between the game’s four factions will shift. For example, one decision may make the military happy while at the same time decreasing the kingdom’s treasury.
Over time, users may make decisions with negative consequences, and some decisions may lead to the end of their current rule. Each time a king is removed from power, players can begin the game again with a new king. Players will receive a different assortment of request and story cards in each game.
Finally, players can complete quests as they progress, which may ask them to have an heir or recruit a doctor for their kingdoms, as examples. Users may unlock additional story and request cards as they complete quests.
