Details On the Nexus One

Two bits of big news about Google’s much buzzed-about phone surfaced today. You’ll remember first hearing about the phone in the middle of the month when Google employees who had been given a prototype began tweeting about it.

Earlier today, The New York Times reported on a press conference Google has slated for January 5th. The invitation said the conference would focus on Android, and speculations are strong that Google will debut the phone on that day.

Then, the gadget blog Gizmodo got hold of some screenshots that are likely Google’s landing pages for the phone, which it will sell exclusively online. The screenshots also revealed some pricing information: the phone will cost $530 unlocked, or $180 for a subsidized phone with a two-year contract. So prepare to migrate your eBooks to your new Nexus One.
