The freaky YouTube animation ‘cows & cows & cows’, which has been viewed nearly 10 million time since it hit YouTube back in January, has just been remixed like no YouTube video has been remixed before—with a modern dance. ‘Cows and Cows and Cows’ is a crazy modern dance piece, choreographed by Shena Tschofen, that is strangely intriguing and enthralling, much like the creepy YouTube hit that inspired it.
According to the video description, Shena “was inspired by how the cows moved and wanted to see how it would look on humans. This dance blurs the line between technology and reality.”
Before watching the modern dance version, I think it’s important that you see the original ‘cows & cows & cows’ animation, created by Cyriak, so you get what’s going on. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out below.
Now that you’ve seen the “surreal bovine choreography,” check out the modern dance version, featuring humans replicating the above animation.
Pretty interesting, right? I think this is also a great example of the growing role that YouTube is playing in all forms of art. We are seeing allusions to popular YouTube videos sneak in all over the place, from the news to film, a cappella performances, and now even modern dance. Let us know what you think about this trend, as well as Shena’s choreography, in the comments below.
