At its Upfront today in New York, CNN announced the debut of CNNx, a product that offers access to 24 hours of programming and and the ability to watch news segments on demand.
“As the Internet has come crashing into the television, we’ve future-proofed CNN,” said KC Estenson, senior vice president and general manager of CNN Digital. “This product bolsters our relationships with TV partners, opens incredible new opportunities for advertisers, and delivers consumers a truly innovative experience.”
Features described in the announcement include:
- Access 24 hours of CNN television rundowns to see segments you’ve missed or what’s coming up next.
- Preview or scroll back through the segments you want to watch.
- “Go deep” on any topic or issue covered by accessing automatically curated related digital content in real time (ie: articles, images, social commentary, etc…)
- Watch CNN TV live or on demand.
CNNx is available via the CNN App for iPad to customers of select TV providers and will be offered to all TV subscribers later this year.
