CNBC Airing “Planet of the Apps” on January 7 – Will we Cheer or Jeer This Mainstream Report About Mobile Tech?

Can mainstream media actually tell the iPhone app story with any semblance of accuracy? We’ll find out on Thursday, January 7 at 10pm Eastern Standard Time when CNBC premieres an hour-long program titled…

Planet of the Apps: A Handheld Revolution

CNBC describes their show like this: n this hour we’ll look at how apps have changed our lives, meet some of the creators behind them, and figure out just how big a business they really are.

One of the listed program “highlights” is actor Gerg Grunberg’s (“Heroes”) Yowza free mobile coupons app (2 stars rating – out of 5 – based on 2692 reviews). OK, a NBC tie=in is fine. But, let’s hope this segment doesn’t take too much of the hour-long program.
