Cincinnati Bengals Delight Fans on Facebook and in the Stands

The Cincinnati Bengals are off to an undefeated start, so naturally, the team's fans on Facebook are pretty happy right now.

The Cincinnati Bengals are off to an undefeated start, so naturally, the team’s fans on Facebook are pretty happy right now.

Analysis by Unmetric of weeks 4 through 6 in the NFL show that the Bengals’ fans commented with the highest percentage of positive sentiment, outpacing the Atlanta Falcons.

Unmetric noted in a presentation that, while most of the team’s Facebook posts had a neutral sentiment, 27 percent of the posts from Sept. 28 through Oct. 19 were positive, and very few were negative.

Looking at the content strategy of NFL teams shows that many times, less is more. Though the Denver Broncos’ Facebook page posted the most of any team week 4 through 6, the team’s engagement paled in comparison to the Bengals and Panthers, who posted far fewer times.

As popular as the Bengals were on Facebook, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers are the top teams on Twitter. Those two teams’ official accounts were the most-mentioned on Twitter and they had the most engaging tweets weeks 4 through 6.
