Bleacher Report added fewer than 15 editors last year to handle breaking news, but CEO Brian Grey told paidContent the latest announcement is geared toward boosting content related to specific teams and coverage areas.
Grey added, as reported by paidContent:
We plan to have a flat compensation model. We looked at pay-per-post or tying ad revenue to page views. But that model isn’t too exciting for writers, especially when the goal is drive quality reporting on a regular basis. That said, there will be certain objectives that writers will have to meet, and we do expect to be competitive with pay-by-performance-based models.
There are currently some 3,000 bloggers under the Bleacher Report umbrella, according to paidContent.
