Beyonce VMAs Pregnancy Announcement Sets New Tweets Per Second Record
After her performance at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Saturday, music superstar Beyoncé Knowles unbuttoned her jacket and rubbed her belly, announcing her pregnancy to the world and triggering a record influx of Tweets.
Beyoncé, who has been married to hip hop star Jay-Z for three years, quickly became a trending topic on Twitter as her news began to spread at incredible 8,868 tweets per second (TPS).
This beat the previous high set during the women’s World Cup finals back in July.
