Amazon wants everyone to know today that sales of the various Kindle models on Friday were the best ever. Compared to last year, 4 times as many Kindles moved on Black Friday as ever before. But since we don’t really know how many Kindles sold last year, this year’s boast doesn’t really mean much.
I would estimate that Amazon sold 5 Kindles last Black Friday, and that means that this year they sold 20. That’s a respectable number, and Amazon should be proud.
Joking aside, the Kindle Fire is expected to sell around 5 million units before the end of the year, so it wouldn’t surprise me to learn that Amazon sold a hundred thousand or more Kindle Fires and a fair number of Kindle ebook readers.
